The Apollo 13 crew broadcasts a live TV show of life in space. -
Liquid Oxgen Tank malfunction
Jack Swigert is asked to turn on the fan in the heater system for the tanks. -
The Explosion
After 55 hours, 3 minutes, and 18 seconds into the mission Swigert flipped the fan switch and there was a big BANG. -
Running out of Oxygen
One oxygen tank guage read 0 and the other started going down. -
The "Life Boat"
The Lunar Module connected to Apollo 13 was used as a life boat for the three men of the crew. -
The Plan
The cew planned to go around the moon and back to earth, in The Lunar Module. About a 4-5 day trip. -
21 hrs later the ship rounded the moon

Too much carbon dioxide
The air purificator was maxed out, and the three men were releasing too much carbon dioxide which could kill them. -
Space Craft Drifting off Course
The ship was drifting off course, it would come into earth too shallow and bounce back up into space and be lost forever. -
Getting back into the Command Module
The crew had to restart the command module to manually steer the ship home. -
Back to Earth
The rocket plundged into the Earth's atmospher after six long days, the Apollo 13 cew landed safely in the Pacific Ocean.
