Armstrong climbs down the ladder of the lunar module and proclaims his famous words "Thats one small step for man, one big step for mankind." -
Astronauts explore the surface
The astronauts spend two and a half hours collecting samples and exploring. -

The astronauts take their flight from the moon back to Earth -
Back on Earth
The crew lands in the waters near Hawaii and the mission is complete. -
Quarantine
The astronauts had to be quarantined after being rescued from the ship to prove there was no bacteria or anything harmful on the moon. -

On July 13 the crew rode in parades in New York, Chicago and Los Angles. After the Los Angles parade there was an official state dinner attended by members of congress, 44 governors, the Chief justice, and president Nixon
