Tang and Song Dynasties
Time of peace and prosperity in China. Known as the golden age due to it success. This is when China began to use paper money and invented the compass, gun powder, even tea drinking. Women were respected and held high government positions. Under the rule of these dynasties science and technology advanced substantially boosting the power held by China and its economy. -

Abbasid Caliphate
Considered to be a major dynasty that ruled over the countries within the middle east. The leader being a Caliph whose power traveled down the bloodline. They ruled over all islamic countries and like the Tang and Song dynasties of China, The Abbasid Caliphate rule was considered the golden age of the Islamic countries. They allowed for free trade throughout there lands and it was a peaceful time within this area. -

Feudalism in Europe
Feudalism was basically just a huge social system that europe used for an extremely long time whilst under the rule of the the kings and queens. It all was based off the idea that people could earn land or money in return for labor. The King had Feifs that owned sections of land given by the king. They had to tend to this land by having servants and laborers and looking after them. Some were fair to there workers, others treated them terribly. They had knights as protection and house servants. -

Mongol Empire
The Mongol empire was the largest contiguous land empire in history and has a history of warfare but it did in fact have a period of peace. The empire protected others and conducted peaceful trade under the Pax mongolia. But once Genghis Khan, the founder died, the Mongol Empire went downhill fast and ended shortly after -

Delhi Sultanate
Islamic empire that began the Muslim rule in India. Mainly located in Northern India. The Delhi Sultanate had five different rulers in the span of its rule before being overthrown by the Mughals who would establish the Mughal rule in India. -

Mali Empire
Empire located in west africa. Incredibly wealthy and a huge trading Hub. They placed large taxes on trade gaining them large amounts of income not ot mention there empire Mansa Musa had so much gold that during his trip to Mecca, he passed it out to people on the street. -

Yuan Dynasty
China's first dynasty led by a forigner. It was established by Kublai Khan, leader of the vast Mongol Empire but it was the shortest empire even found in china. THe people of China were not happy to be ruled by a mongol emperor and came together to rebel against it eventually overthrowing the Yuan dynasty. -

Ottoman Empire
The ottoman empire expanded through most everywhere in europe, the middle east, north africa, parts of asia, the empire was huge. It controlled all trade routes on land generating a generous amount of wealth. Though they tolerated other religions, those who were not muslim often found themselves living a disadvangtageous life.As more and more countries such as greece began to fight for there freedom, the ottoman empire began to fall. -

European Renaissance
The European Renaissance was a time of cultural, artistic, political and economic “rebirth” following the Middle Ages. after the Bubonic plague, the focus of most people switched .The Renaissance was inspired by the greeks and romans and there art. It made things like classical philosophy, literature and art prominent again.Artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo became influences and not only painted but were engineers and idealists.The Renaissance focused on humanism instead of church. -

Mesoamerican Empires (Aztec and Inca)
First advanced civilizations in the new world. Had skills in building and agriculture that included math and science. Had there own languages and counting systems. Worshiped gods (Sun god,yamm god) and preformed human sacrifices to keep them happy. Built huge temples and and calculated which altituide and temperature crops grew best at. Built bridges and houses and crazy water ways. The Aztecs did all of this living on a marsh and managed to not sink and Incas in the Mountains successfully. -

Bubonic Plague
also known as the black death, and It peaked in Europe causing substantial damage. The plague traveled through merchant ships and fleas and it killed from 30 to 60% of Europe's population. It was slowed through quarantines and isolation though bodies were piled in the streets and doctors were too scared to leave to help people. Bodies had to be loaded up into carriages that would ride through daily .The plague caused a many people to lose faith in the pope causing a soon switch in power. -

Ming Dynasty
The Ming Dynasty rose to power after the fall of the Yuan dynasty and was the last imperial dynasty ruled by Han Chinese. While under the rule of this dynasty China's population doubled. Trade was expanded substantially and many ties to the west were made. The Chinese invented successful products such as porcelain. -

Age of Exploration
The age of exploration was a time in europe in which countries were on the hunt for new trading routes and allies.It was a time of capitalism and competition between upcoming power countries.Many countries hoped to find ways to spread christianity as is was being challenged within the heart of europe.It really was started by Henry the navigator of portugal who sent out ships to explore the coast of africa.He even funded a sailing school.They found sea routes to asia and the americas. -

Portuguese Trading Post Empire
These trading post empires took advantage of the sea surrounding them to control the ports. They used the ports to tax merchant ships traveling on the trading routes. These routes were essential stops along most merchants trading paths there for they gained a substantial amount of income boosting the economy. -

Spanish Colonial Empire
The spanish empire took up most all of south america. After taking over the native tribes of mexico to chile, the spanish empire rose to power. By forcing the natives into enslavement, and using them to mine silver and natural resources then distributing them to countries abroad Spain became one of the most powerful countries in europe. They traded silver with the spice islands and asia to obtain silks and fine materials to then distribute throughout europe. -

The reformation was a time of doubt in the catholic church and the pope.When the sale of indulgences(the pope had people pay to have sins washed away in the form of paper.)Many monks and other saw how wrong this was,especially a man named Martin Luther who took it upon himself to put an end to the gibberish preached by the pope and posted a 95 thesis on the door of a church starting the reformation.The reformation resulted in new faiths such as the lutherans and many others despite the pope. -

Atlantic Slave Trade
the Atlantic Slave Trade was basically the transportation of slaves from africa to the americas and parts of europe. Labor was in high demand in america with the new world under development especially after the native population declined substantially. The slaves were cheap and hard workers making them ideal for the new world. -

The Mughal Empire ruled most of India and pakistan in its prime. There prime religion was muslim though the country was based on hindu beliefs. The first emperor was Babur who claimed to be descended from Genghis Khan the mongol emperor. They had a very powerful military that gained them more territory and protection. -

The military government in japan during the edo period was known as the Tokugawa Shogunate. This government united the japanese people and centralized the power within the country. They increased urbanization and and help pull people out of poverty. But they also banned outside influences especially from the west. There main goal was to keep out all forms of christianity. -

Last dynasty ever to be in power in China. It began a strong military front that was used to over power the Ming dynasty. Unlike the Ming dynasty, the Qing dynasty limited all foreign contact and keep most westerns out.Life in the Qing dynasty was hard for the people and resulted in many of the population living lives of hunger and poverty. -

The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment was a time of intellectual movement, when ideas such as democracy and seperation of powers rose to the surface. It focused a lot on things like reason, and science. Questions about God and his interaction with the world came into question as lots of monarchs claimed to be chosen by God. As these questions about God came into mind, including the idea of deism, Monarchs lost power and were forced out of power. Thus leading countries to the ideas of democracy and freedom.
