During the time, many people believed that the causes of disasters on earth were God's anger and others tried to prove faith from those disasters. It also improved mass productions in factories and developed urbanization among places. This age improved people's way of living by providing enough money and jobs to those looking for it. Many countries in the west were modernizing and increasing their territories through imperialism. Those countries invaded others that weren't industrialized and modernized with new weapons and technology. The scramble for Africa
An event that caught the curiosity of Europeans. The Europeans call Africa "The Dark Continent" because it was unknown to them a the time. Explorers went out to sea to uncover the mysteries of that land and found that it was rich with minerals. This became a race to make territories of Africa and its minerals. -
Berlin Conference
This was to divide the African countries among the European countries, mostly for resources and territory, ending the scramble for Africa. The resources they would find would help them in their industries and maintenance. The European countries also treated Africans like they would treat any other native from the new world.
