    The French and Indian war was between France and Great Britain. The war started because there was issues with who got to claim the Ohio River.

    The Stamp Act was a tax on all paper documents. This tax was thought up to help with the financial and economic loss that happened during the Seven Year War. Parliament pushed forward with the stamp act even with the colonist's objection.

    The stamp act congress met in New York City. This was the first gathering of several American colonies to protest against the British taxations.

    The Boston Massacre happened because a colonist and a red coat got into a fight. The other colonists started to throw snowballs that had ice and rocks in them. The red coat fell back and called for back up. When his back up came to help they told the colonists to stay back. Then someone said fire so a red coat fired and killed 5 and wounded 6.

    The Boston Tea Party started because the British decided to take away the taxes beside the tea tax. So the Sons of liberty were created. Many members of the Sons of liberty boarded a ship dressed as native Americans and threw 342 barrels of tea into the ocean.

    The first meeting was in carpenter hall in Philadelphia. The First Continental Congress delegates from all 13 colonies beside Georgia because Georgia was fighting a Native American uprising. After much discussion they decided to issue a declaration of rights.

    The Battles of Concord and Lexington started the American revolutionary war. It has been building up over the years between the 13 American colonies and the British. However it is focused mostly in Massachusetts.

    The Declaration of Independence was the day that all 13 American colonies were separated from the British. As a result they became their own states. The 4th of July was the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed and adopted. That is why we celebrate the Fourth of July.
