    In July 1848 there was an attempt to create a Women's rights movement. This was one of the first recorded attempts. There was a convention put together to try to get the movement started. The picture chosen is from Seneca Falls in New York which is known as the Birthplace for Women's Rights.

    The 19th amendment was passed by Congress in 1919 and ratified in 1920 and it allowed women the right to vote. This was a big step for women and their rights because it was something they had been denied of for years. This was a big milestone they achieved and it had required a very difficult struggle.

    This act protects against wage discrimination based off is someone is a male or female. This was another big step for women following the 19th amendment. If a female works the same job as a male then she should be paid the same amount as him for the hard work she does.
  • Roe v. Wade

    Roe v. Wade
    Roe v. Wade was a supreme court case that stated it was unconstitutional to ban abortions. When this was decided most states severely restricted or banned getting abortions. This court case ruled that the states were forbidden from outlawing or regulating any aspect of abortion performed during the first trimester and during the third trimester an abortion could only be used in emergency to save the mothers life.

    There has been a lot of turmoil recently relating to women's rights with abortions. A few months ago roe v wade was overturned meaning a women's right to an abortion is no longer constitutional. This has been causing a lot of protests and backlash from women as a result.
