    The Roman Empire

    The Romans wanted Jews to worship Roman gods, but the Jews refused. This made the Romans angry so they labeled the Jews as stubborn and hostile.

    Christian anti-Judaism

    Jesus's followers separated themselves from Judaism and became excommunicated.
  • 1500

    1500's

    Jews were forced into ghettos and they were blamed for every single thing that went wrong, even if they had nothing to do with it.

  • Race

    Jews slowly came out of the ghettos, but people were now discriminating against them because of race instead of religion. Jews were seen as inferior to the descendants of the "Aryans" who were mythical people that left India and moved westward. Jews were stilled blamed for bad things happening during this time.

  • Hitler

    Some people in Germany like Hitler, claimed that Germany was completely controlled by Jews who were too sly for people to detect what was going on. As Hitler rose to power, he made laws that took Jews rights away. When he sent Jews to camps where most of them would die. He did this with surrounding countries and even one of Germany's allies when it did not cooperate. By the time Hitler fell, he killed one-third of the Jewish population.
