    The Universial of declaration of human rights, was written on the 10th of December. It was 30 rights and freedom rights that were written agreeing that everybody should have the right to were they live. The rights and freedoms were made up by all of the countries so they were all on the same page.

    Freedom Rides

    People got onto a bus and set a ride around West of NSW. There aim was the they were going to help Aboriginal towns wtih there education, living etc. They hoped to bring the Aboriginal community and Austrlia people community together.
  • Wave hill Walk off

    The wave hill walk off, was were the Gurindji people were given the same amount of Australia worker at this time. They were aloud to get $25.00 per week.
  • The Referendum

    The referendum was to change the constitution of Australia by putting in different idea/votes to come up with a decision.
  • Aboriginal Tent Embassy

    Aboriginal Tent Embassy
    The aboriginal Tent Embassy was the slowing down of the land rights for Aboriginal people. After the Referendum, they still needed to be know the ownership of there owm land. Roberta (Bobbi) Sykes, Gary Foley and Michael Anderson, were the people who started the Tent Embassy, on Austrlaia Day. Tent Embassy is still know about today.

    Whitlam Government Returns Land to Gurindji People
    This picture is showing that they were successful in having there own land. The Prime Minister at the time poured dirt into a guys hand, calling it the earth, giving a lot of land to the Gurindji People. Vincent Lingiari’s was the one who handed the land over. This was one of the first times that they felt a connection between the land and themselfs.
  • Mabo Case Ruling in the High Court

    This Court case was so that Islanders had the right to there own land. They said that their land 'has not been sold or given away'. People think that there may be other areas in Australia, were Aboiriginals own land.
  • Bringing them Home Report

    The Briniging home report was a report that was about all of the children who were taken in the stolen generation. Many people told their stories on how they were taken away from their families, making it a very hard for them. People used pictures to show their stories.
