During the spring, Germany invades Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, and France. In September, Japan joins.

Japan attacks the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. The United States enters World War II on the side of the Allied Nations.

The "Final Solution" is announced by the Nazis. It is to build death camps to "exterminate" Jews. Many people will later die.

The Franks go into hiding after Margot Frank recieves an order to be sent to a labor camp in Germany. The Van Pels join them one week later.

Fritz Pfeffer becomes the eight person to live in the small room with the Franks and Van Pels.

Allied forces land in Normany, France and launch an invasion og Western Europe.

Nazi police raid the secret annex. All 8 occupants are sent to concentration camps. The only person who later survives the camps is Otto Frank.

The war in Europe ends with Germany surrendering.

Japan surrenders after the US drops atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasak. World War II ends one week later. The Allies have won.
