the seven commandments were created by the animals.(pg.43) The commandments are:
1.whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy
2. whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings is a friend
3. no animal shall wear clothes
4. no animal shall sleep in a bed
5. no animal shall drink alcohol
6. no animal shall kill any other animal
7. All Animals Are Equal. -
On page 79 the commandment "no animal shall sleep in a bed" was changed to "no animall shall sleep in a bed With Sheets" because Squealer and the other pigs moved into the farmhouse, but the animals did not aprove of it. So, he changed the rule and the others suspected nothing.

On page 98, the sixth commandment "no animal shall kill any other animal was changed to "no animal shall kill any other animal without cause" because on page 93 Napoleon made the animals confess to any crime they have commited. Any animal that confessed got slaughtered, so they chaged the rule and the animals suspected nothing, again.

on page 113 the commandment "no animal shall drink alcohol" was changed to no animal shall drink alcohol to excess" because the pigs and dogs discovered alcohol and liked the taste.
