Andrew Jackson believed that John Quincy Adams and Henry Clay made a corrupt bargain so Adams can be the president. -
Election of 1828
Andrew Jackson was elected president and that was the start of the Jacksonian Democracy in which he expanded suffrage and used the spoils system. -
Bank War
Andrew Jackson thought the state banks benefitted the wealthy. He didn't like that so he wanted the bank to have less economic power. -
Indian Removal Act
Andrew Jackson wanted the Indians to be moved further to the west. The Cherokees took the case into court and John Marshall decided to let them stay. Andrew Jackson still made them walk the Trail of Tears. -
Nullification Crisis
John C. Calhoun didn't like the tariff because it caused economic troubles and SC also wanted to nullify it or else they would leave the United States.
