Battle of New Orleans
The British wanted to take over New Orleans because it would let them control the Mississippi river. The Americans decided that they would have to defend with all their might. Major Andrew Jackson collected 4,500 men to fight the 8,000 British. After just 30 minutes the Americans had won. -

Even though Andrew Jackson was the popular vote, he tied in the electoral college with John Quincy Adams. The House of Representatives go to decide who won. They picked Adams. -
