Jackson Enlists in the Revolutionary Army
Jackson enlisted as soon as he realized they needed help. He led a great 2,500 men victory from Tennessee which made him seem invincible when they killed at least 1,000 Indians. -
Battle of New Orleans
The Battle of New Orleans was a victory for the US with Jackson leading. They fought Britain for about a week in a series of engagements that kept occuring. This was the final battle of the War of 1812. -
Election of 1824
In this election, it helped the US decide the kinds of political parties that would exist and which ones they would choose to abolish. There were a total of four candidates (names in pictures), and they all had their own personal thoughts. At the end, Adams became President due to the Electoral College's votes. -
Nullification Crisis
This was designed to protect the US industry by increasing tariffs on goods from Europe. Unfortunately, the tariffs hurt the Southern farmers because they depended on trade with Europe. South Carolina declared the Tariff illegal by passing the Nullification Act. -
Election of 1828
The Election of 1828 was very significant because Andrew won. This gave the USA a president in favor of the common people for the first time. The wealthy were furious because they would not get what they pleased, but little did they know that Andrew would help the nation have more equality. -
Bank War
The Bank War was the political struggle of the economic choice the US had to make as to whether to have a second bank or not. As soon as Jackson had the power to eliminate the second bank, he did. It was not an issue again after it became non-existent -
Indian Removal Act
This Act was to get rid of all the Indians. It worked however, it became well known as the 'Trail of Tears'. Jackson got rid of what was causing him issues, so he had hardly any feelings towards the Indians that were disrupting him. -
Worchester vs Georgia
This event was a Supreme Court case. The reason this had to exist was becasue the Indians were becoming an issue in Georgia. Unfortunately, the US lost the case, and the Indians had the right to remain in Georgia.
