Jackson's Birth & Early Life
Jackson was born in Tennessee. His father died three weeks before he was born. Both of his brothers died of sickness, and shortly after that, his mother died as well. Jackson was then orphaned at the age of 14. -
Jackson's enrollment to the Revolutionary Army
Jackson was enrolled into the Revolution when he was 13. Assigned as a courier, he did his duty. Then his brothers and mother died. This is his enrollment to the army. -
The Battle of Horseshoe Bend
This is the Battle of Horsehoe Bend. It was fough on March 27th, 1814. It was Andrew Jackson vs. the Indians. Jackson had an intricate plan, and yet the situation went bad to worst. It was said that the river next to it was dyed red with blood. -
Battle of New Orleans
The Battle of New Orleans was fought in Lousiana, in late 1814, during the War os 1812. Led by Andrew Jackson, the Americans defeated the British by a large margin. The Americans lost less then 100 men, and British lost 2000 men. One ironic thing is that the War was already over as the Treaty of Ghent was signed already. -
The Election of 1824
This is the election of 1824. In this election, 4 candidates ran for president. It was down to three candidates, one from the republican and two from the democrats. The one republican, however, helped the other as that certain guy was the Speaker of the House. He essentially convinced them to vote for the republican. This is why Adams won and why the Election of 1824 was called the, "Corrupt Bargain". -

In the Election of 1828, Andrew Jackson, the challenger, and John Quincy Adams faced each other on who would be the next president. Jackson, having won both the popular and electoral vote, became president -
Indian Removal Act
This event called, "Indian Removal Act", gave the president (Andrew Jackson) the power to relocate the Indians and give the American settlers land. Some tribes went along, but others resisted. This act is also known as the, "Trail of Tears", as many Natives died and suffered much. -
Bank War
Andrew Jackson did not like the national bank. He vowed, "I will kill it." Jackson did not renew the subscription of the bank. -
Worcester vs. Georgia
This case defined how the U.S. treats all of their citizens. This case is basically where Georgia has a law where the non-Natives are prohibited from living in the Natives area, and vice versa. However, Worcester refused. They went into a big debate and the court went in Worcester's favor, as the 14th amendment says that a man is free to pursue, “life, liberty and happiness.”, and Georgia does not have the power to override such things. -
Nullification Crisis
The Nullification Crisis was when there was a high tariff and he southerners did not like that. South Carolina wanted to nullify the high tariff. This was a big debate as it decided whether states have the power to cancel what the national government said. However, this was solved by a compromise. If S.C. doesn't secede, then the tariffs will decrease.
