In 1815, Andrew Jackson became a war hero at the last battle of the War of 1812. This is important because it helps him win the Election of 1828, and he became very popular by the commoners. -

In 1828-1832, The South declarded federal laws null and void. The tariffs were severly damaging the economy for the South because they needed imports to farm. The tariffs were declared unconstitutional which was a use of power Andrew Jackson had. -
Spoil System
In 1828-1836, Andrew Jackson used the spoil system to put his political party people in the judicial branch. This means that Andrew Jackson controlled everything, so anything he didn't like, wouldn't get accepted. This made him very close to a tyrant. -

In 1830, Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act. It pretty much gave American that indians's land in land that we had already used. Thus created conflcits with Indians, and it also created manifest destsny -
Trail of Tears
After 1830, the Trail of Tears happened because of the Indian Removal Act. This forced indians to travel many, many miles to get to their destination. This journey had people dying of disease and starvation. Ultimately, 10,000 people died because of westward expansion. -
Indians moving to reservations
In 1832, Georgia wanted to remove the Indians from their land. The indians insisted that they had their own government and they were not allowed to be removed from their land. After the court case, Indians were removed from their land. -
War on the Bank
In 1833, Jackson's war on the bank occured because Jackson believed he had received the common people's support because he was supposed to help them. Destroying the bank greatly helped the common.
