    Jackson was born in a log cabin on the frontier. Both of his parents died before he was 15. He had to grow up quickly. When he was 13 he joined the patriots during the American revolution. Jackson got captured by the british and got beat up. Jackson won national fame for his achievements during the war of 1812. He led American forces to a major victory over british at the battle of New Orleans.

    He joined at the age of 13. Jackson got caught by the british and they hurt him. He wanted to get back by the war. His brothers joined with him and they had both died during the war. Jacksons other brother and him got sent to jail because he did not shine the persons shoes. That all happened when Jackson was enlisting in the war.

    The British planned on coming up and attacking America from New Orleans. But Andrew Jackson was prepared and set up his army. The Choctaws were longtime rivals with the Northern Indians which gave them more incentive to attack. On January 8,1815 British attacked. they pursued the fight killing over 2000 british army men. American sharpshooters and canons were the deadliest weapons against the British. Only 7 American men died. The victory was in the Americans hands.

    There were four candidates for president in 1824. All four were members of the old Republican party. William Crawford became too ill to campaign. John Quincy who was also running was the son of the second president. Adams knew that the election had angered many americans. Adams became the president that year.

President Jackson publicly presented the he supported a compromise from Henry Clay; he also asked Congress to pass the Force Bill. Nobody chose to side with South Carolina after Jacksons strict rules to enforce the tariff with army support in necessary.

    Chief justice John Marshall declared georgias action unconstitutional and stated that native americans were protected by the united states constitution. This happened because many states wanted to prevent tribes likes the Cherokees. In 1828, Georgia passed a law declaring that all indians in the state must be governed by state laws. Worcester argued that the state could not maintain the prosecution because the statute violated the constitution.
