    Decline of Mohenjo Daro and Harappa

    Decline of Mohenjo Daro and Harappa
    Mohenjo Daro and Harappa were located along the Indus River.
    There are 3 theories for their decline: The first one is about the flood ocurred when the river rised its level of water and the people decided to move to another place. The second theory says that the people moved because an earthquake caused floods in the cities. The third theory says that the Assyrians coquered this cities.
  • Period: 1500 BCE to 250 BCE

    Indo-Aryan Migration

    People from central Europe migrated to Africa and the north of India.
    The Aryan people went through the Hindu Kush mountain and arrived to the Indus river valley where they seat and stablished their power.

    Siddartha Gautama found Buddhism

    Siddartha Gautama found Buddhism
    Buddhism is a religion based on the teachings of Siddartha Gautama he came to be called "Buddha" wich means "The awakened one". The difference between Hinduism and Buddhism is that the Hinduism believes in many gods who all of them come from Atman. The buddhism doesn´t believe on any god. The buddhism has a creator (Buddha) and the Hinduism doesn´t a particular founder.

    The two main leaders of the Mauryan Dynasty where Bindusara and Ashoka. This empire fall when Ashoka died and the empire disolved in the year of 185 BC

    Reign of Asoka

    Asoka is famous because during his reign, he spread buddhism in the whole India and abroad. He built 84000 stupas to store the relics of Buddha and also were places for meditation.
  • 261 BCE

    Battle of Kalinga

    Battle of Kalinga
    Asoka in this battle attacked Kalinga wanting to extend his empire. After win the battle he left shocked because the massive destruction he caused on properties and human lives. This situation changed him into a peaceful and non-violent emperor.
  • Period: 320 to 550

    Gupta Dynasty

    Founded by Sri Gupta and followed by his family. Called the golden age of India because during this period of time many inventions and discoveries in science, technology, engineering, art, literature, logic, mathematics, astronomy, religion and philosophy. All the achievements are the bases of the Hindu culture.
