    Building of the Great Pyramid
    Great Pyramid of Giza, also called Great Pyramid and Great Pyramid of Khufu, ancient Egyptian pyramid that is the largest of the three Pyramids of Giza. It was built to honor Khufu, the second king of Egypt’s 4th dynasty, and was completed about 2560 BCE.
    The Great Pyramid is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World left standing today.

    Pythagorean theorem, the well-known geometric theorem that the sum of the squares on the legs of a right triangle is equal to the square on the hypotenuse.
    The first record of the Pythagorean Theorem date back to the Babylonians/Egyptians. Four Babylonian tablets from circa 1900–1600 BCE indicate some knowledge of the theorem, with a very accurate calculation of the square root of 2.
    The Egyptians were said to have used the Pythagorean Theorem to build the Great Pyramids

    The Trojan War
    The Trojan War began in 1150 BCE and it ended in 1140 BCE. It opposed the Greek and the people of Troy. The war began after the Trojan prince abducted the wife of the king of Sparta. For 9 years, Troy’s city held out but, one day, the Greeks offered a large hollow wooden horse. However, this horse was a poisoned gift because there were Greeks warriors inside and Troy was destroyed.

    First Olympiad took place in 776( seven hundred and seventy six) BC (before christ) in Olympia, a Greek city.
    The Olympics were created in honor of ancient Greece's most famous god: Zeus, the king’s god. Unlike today’s games, only men were allowed to compete
    There were common activities like sprinting and wrestling. But there were also some activities more special like chariot racing or the pankration.
    The pankration is a fighting game with only two rules: no biting and no eye gouging

    First Persian War began in 500 (five hundred) B.C (before christ) and finished in 490 (four hundred and ninety) B.C in Persia. Darius, who was the Persian king at the time, wanted to expand Persia but failed due to the aide of Athens to the other Greek-city states. As a result, Persia sought revenge.

    The battle of Marathon

    The battle of Marathon
    The battle of Marathon took place in 490 BCE. During this battle, the Athenians repulsed the Persian invasion of Greece in Marathon. According to legend, an Athenian messenger was sent from Marathon to Athens to announce the Persian defeat. He ran 26.2 miles and this distance became the basis for the modern marathon race. It is for this reason the battle of Marathon is so famous.

    Second Persian War began in 480 (four hundred and eighty) B.C and finished in 476 (four hundred and seventy six) B.C. After Darius's Death, Xerxès, his son, became the Persian king. Xerxès hated Athens because of what they did to his father, so he started a war again, against Persia. Unfortunately for him and his army, Athens won again in this second war.
