This period is known as the Golden Age of Greek civilisation. It is seen as golden because many new ways of governing, thinking and creating were experimented with. Examples of this would be the democratic laws and reforms in the city-state of Athens. -

The decline of the Greek city-state and the rise of the area of Greece known Macedonia. -
Period: 336 BCE to 324 BCE

Alexander the Great becomes king of Macedonia. He was a famous leader and military commander and created a large Empire which extended from the Mediterranean to the Middle East. The empire disintegrated after his death.
