The Peloponnesian Wars began because many of the Greek city-states weren't happy in the Delian League and Athens was getting to powerful. This was a significant event because it was the first time the Greek city-states fought together against the Persian Empire. -

Alexander the Great dies
When Alexander the Great died his reign ended and his people fought among themselves for power over Greece. This is significant because it eventually just tore his empire into separated city-states.
