  • 6000 BCE

    Neolithic Perio

    From 6000-2900 BCE, they introduced poetry and animal husbandry. The travelling is a result of over population settling in Thrace, then to Macedonia that leading to Thessaly. During the Neolithic Period came the transition between the “hunter and gatherers” to job specialization, where there were farmers, and the domestication of animals. Also where people started using stone tools.

    Early Bronze

    From 2900-2000 BCE, much about this period was learnt from the architecture, this showed burial styles and much bout their lifestyle. During the Early Bronze Age colonies averaged from 300-1000 people. During the Early Bronze Age people started to work with bronze, and other metals. With the art of “Blacksmiths” welcomed trade, a dozen husks of corn for a sheep. That sheep for a metal pot. This concept of trade has greatly evolved to what we call currency in the 21st century.

    Minoan Age

    Beginning in 2000-1400 BCE. Being divided into 3 periods, the Minoan age was centred on the island of Crete.
    The age of Minoan is basically the time of flourish, History.eu says the art in which they covered there architecture in has very much inspired the westerner world we know today. With the creation of large labyrinth like palace complexes.

    Mycenaean Period

    Starting 1600-1100 BCE, this period was very rich in cultural achievements. According to ancient.eu “The Mycenaeans came to dominate most of mainland Greece and several islands, extending trade relations to other Bronze Age cultures in such places as Cyprus, the Levant, and Egypt. The culture made a lasting impression on later Greeks in the Archaic and Classical periods, most tangibly in their myths of Bronze Age heroes like Achilles and Odysseus and their exploits in the Trojan War”.
  • 1100 BCE

    The Dark Ages

    From 1100-750 BCE. After the Trojan war the Mycenaean’s went through a civil war, resulting in the Mycenaean civilization being demolished by a tribe called the Dorians. Among a lot of the dark events, one of the main achievements made in this era was the reading from Dark Ages Project says “Gothic Cathedrals were one of these major advancements in architecture and religion”.
  • 750 BCE

    Archaic Period

    Rom 750-500 BCE, once again this era of Greek culture is mostly defined in its development of art. Like pottery and sculptures, and political advancements like the beginning of democracy. The creation of democracy obviously had a long lasting effect as most of the world follows the same democratic government we have now.
  • 500 BCE

    Classical Period

    500-336 BCE, during this time held the death of Alexander the Great and the Macedonian king. Democracy was fully developed, along hat more cultural advices flourished. This was all the time of Socrates and Plato, where there’s schools of philosophy.
  • 336 BCE

    Hellenistic Age

    336-146 BCE, this is the period in between the conquest of Alexander the Great to conquer the Persian Empire, and the distinct colonization of the Roman supremacy.
