    The golden age of Athens

    This 75 year period, which ended at the Peloponnesian war in 404 BC

    Socrates

    Socrates was born in 469 BCE. He taught many students including Plato, Aristotle, Crito and many others. He used the Socratic method which is a question asking method which leads to realization. He died drinking Hemlock

    The Peloponnesian war

    This war was fought between Sparta and Athens. To block the Spartans, the Athenians built a wall around the city but leaving an opening for their navy. The Spartans burned the crops and starved from their ignorance

    Plato

    Plato was Socrates' star pupal and even recorded a lot of his teachings. He opened an academy in 387 BCE, it lasted for more than 900 years.

    He was called the "great philosopher" in the Middle Ages. Aristotle is probably the most known philosopher in the world

    Alexander the great

    Alexander was a young boy when his father died. At 20 people thought he was easy to over throe but little Al had some tricks up his sleeves. He conquered a lot of Persia, costal Mediterranean cities, the middle east, and Egypt.

    This library had more the 700,000 important scrolls and it was still growing. Through centuries of robberies, sand storms & fires none of the scrolls have been recovered.
