First stone pyramid was built and the pyramids of Giza were starting to get built. -

In Mesopotamia copper is mixed with arsenic, and later with tin to make their harder metal bronze. -
6500 bc
The worlds first city, Jericho is built in the Jordan valley with a population of about 2500 people. -
7000 bc
Flax is grown and spun to make linen cloth. Pigs, sheeps and goats are domesticated. -
8000 bc
Barley and wheat varieties are domesticated. The first towns grew up around the grain fields. -
9000 bc
Gatherers in the Middle East and North Africa are collecting wild grains. Zagros mountains around the modern Iran-Iraq begin to herd flocks of wild goats and sheep.
