    The Shang Dynasty
    ruled in the Yellow River valley in the second millennium BC, succeeding the Xia dynasty and followed by the Zhou dynasty.

    Oracle Bones

    Oracle Bones
    oracle bones created by pressing a heated rod into cattle bones or turtles shells. When the bones cracked it was interpreted as the ancestors. They used oracle bones a lot.

    Was the longest-lasting of China's dynasties. The Zhou people were Chinese-speaking people descendant from the Longshan Neolithic culture.

    It was known for it's violence. China got smart. Confucius lived during this time.

    Laozi founded the philosophy Daoism. Daoism is a philosophical and religious tradition that was developed in China. A man named Laozi created these beliefs.

    Confucius

    Confucius
    551-479 BCE. During the spring and Autumn period, many states were in conflict. State rulers hired officials and advisers at their courts. Confucius was on of these people. He was trying to persuade people to do good and accept traditional roles of society. He did not succeed in influencing any rulers, however, his disciples organized his teachings into a book called the Analects. His philosophy would became the most important school of thought in China.
