Black Wall Street
It began as a riot about segregation in a city called Tulsa, Oklahoma. This city had a large amount of successful black business men which the whites were unhappy about. The riots had gotten out of hand and black businesses and homes were looted and set on fire. Then airplanes were used to destroy the city as well as drop bombs. The whole city and around it had been destroyed in days. -
Cubana Airlines
The plane was hijacked minutes before landing in Varadero from Miami by members of 26th of July Movement, who were under the power of Fidel Castro. The men held the crew and passengers at gunpoint. The hijacking was to get attention and to receive political gain. It wasn't thought through well and they crash landed, only 3 survived and Castro had his emergency rescue men save only his men that had been on the plane. -
Continental Airlines Flight 11
This plane exploded by dynamite while passing threw a storm while going into Kansas city. Thomas Doty had purchased life insurance before boarding the plane. The policy was worth $250,000 for his wife and kids. During the flight Doty had gone to the bathroom and ignited the sticks of dynamite. The end of the plane was blown off and the plane split into pieces. After the plane crashed on the ground it was not obvious that it wasn't from the storm. Delta Airlines Hijacking
Samuel Joseph Byck had a plan to hijack a plane and fly it into the white house while the president was there. At the time the president was Richard Nixon. He was able to take control of the plane but only before it took off. Byck had been down on luck so his plan to kill the president was suppose to "get the government back". He had also created a bomb that was poorly constructed and purchased a gun a few days before and was flagged on the watch list. His whole plan fell through. -
American Airlines Flight 444
This flight was on it's way to Washington, D.C.. Theodore Kaczynski had been blowing up planes with homemade mail bombs. The one he planted on this plane miraculously didn't fully explode. His scheme was an avenge plot on the "evils" technology has brought us. His bomb had ignited but only to the extent of causing smoke throughout the plane. He received the nickname Unabomber and was finally captured in 1996. -
Pan American World Airways Flight 103
The flight consisting of 259 people had exploded over Scotland on their way to New York City. 11 people on the ground had also died. The United States had worked with British investigators to look through debris, they found a circuit board with a timer. It was proven that it was a terrorist attack and not a plane malfunction. Al Megrahi was tried and found guilty of producing the bomb. -

9/11 Attack
Al Qaeda terrorist had hijacked four planes. Two had crashed into the World Trade Center, which had later collapsed. President Bush was informed and make an announcment about the events being a terrorist attack. Another plane had crashed into the Pentagon building klling hundreds. The fourth plane had been taken back over by the passengers and crash landed into a field in Pennsylvania. The mass destruction was devistating. -
American Airlines Flight 63 (shoe bomber)
Richard Reid had planted a bomb of mass destruction inside his shoe on a flight from Paris, France to Miami, Florida. Passengers on the plane foiled his plan, they tied him to his seat and a doctor used a tranquilizer on him. He was a British citizen who converted to Islam and considered himself a disciple of the Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. He plead guilty to all his charges and is currently serving a life sentence in a super-maximum prison in Colorado. -
Cargo Bombing Attempt
Cargo planes traveling to the United States are in the process of being screened for bombs before take off but many are still being missed. This plane took off in Yemen where a terrorist linked to Al Qaeda slipped in a package containing a bomb. The bomb wasn't detonated but the U.S. is still trying to figure out the motive behind the bomb. For the U.S. improving cargo security is key to reducing these threats. -

EgyptAir Flight MS804 Crash
This flight was traveling from Paris, France to Cairo, Egypt. The plane disappeared over the Mediterranean Sea. Search and rescue teams were sent out and found debris and personal items from passengers. They have yet to figure out the official cause of the plane crash. All systems were checked and cleared before take off. They do not believe it was a plane malfunction. The steaks of it being a terrorist attack are very high, but is still unknown.
