    The French and Indian War is what lead to the American Revolution, The British had used up resources and stationed soldiers in former French forts which was costly causing the British to tax the American colonies. The very first tax was The Sugar Act of 1763.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    British soldiers that were stationed to gaurd the British Customs House fired into a crowd of protesters. The event that had lead up to this was the civilians attacking the soldiers with clubs and blunt weapons, during the scuffle the soldiers heard someone say "FIRE" and began shooting. 3 protesters were killed and many injured

    The Boston Tea Party was a protest that happened on December 16, 1773, over by Griffin’s Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts. The protesters were angry americans that disliked the fact that the british were taxing them so they had decided to dump 342 chests of tea that the british had imported from the east british india company into the harbor.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    Thomas Gage was appointed Royal Governor of Massachusetts a year before the battle,he was tasked by the British Parliament to stamp out rising unrest. Gage was facing threat of rebellion, in hopes to prevent such violence he seized all weapons and powder being stored in Massachusetts and had the stored somewhere else 20 miles away, but due to underastimating the determanation of the american colonists he eventually lost the battle.

    The battles of Trenton and Princeton were fought over the course of nine days (December 23 - January 3) this was a significant moment in history because this was George Washington's first victory agains the british armies. This set the stage for many more victories in the future for the american colonies.

    After six long years of war the british army only had control of the coastal colonies in america but on the otherside of the atlantic britian was at global war with the other eroupean countries. General George Washington and his french ally Lt. Gen. Comte de Rochambeau attacked the british from the south where they would get naval support, and from their headquarters they headed north from new york to yorktown where they eventually won the war.

    The Treaty of Paris was signed after 8 long years of war, the treaty was signed in paris where three american representives signed a treaty with a british representive. The american representives were John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and John Jay.
