Stamp Act
Issued and required taxes for all stamps on mail. -
Townshend Acts
Taxes are imposed on tea, glass, paper, and paints. Citizens started to boycott and troops were then sent in. -
Boston Massacre
Troops snap and kill 5 militiamen including an African-American man named Cripus Attucks. -
Boston Tea Party
In response to the violence and the unresolved issue of the taxes, the Sons of Liberty, led by Paul Revere and Samuel Adams, dumped all tea that ships had brought, in to the Boston Harbor. -
First Continental Congress
Lit the greviences against the British Government. End date: October 26, 1774 -
