  • The Albany Congress

    The were two purposes of the Albany Congress which were to try to secure the support and cooperation of the Iroquois in fighting the French and the second purpose was to form a colonial alliance based on a design by Benjamin Franklin.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Closed off the frontier to colonial expansion and established four new colonies
  • The Sugar Act

    This Act reduced taxes on molasses and allows many other goods to be taxed. This was important for the economy.
  • The Currency Act

    Parliament assumed control of the colonial currency system.
  • The Stamp Act

    An act that regulated stamp duties.
  • The Declaratory Act

    Secured the dependency of his Majesty's dominions in America upon the crown and parliament of Great Britain.
  • The Townshend Revenue Act

    Taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea were applied.
  • Boston Massacre

    A street fight between a patriot mob and British soldiers. A signal event that lead to the Revolutionary war.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The first continental congress met in in Philadelphia in Carpenter's Hall. Delegates were present from every colony except Georgia.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was signed and read about publicly.
