  • Boston Massacare

    Boston Massacare
    Colonists were bothering troops, and began throwing anything they can get their hands on at them. Finally troop fired, and only 5 people died, but it was called a massacare to get attention, and to get more people againist Britain. This is called a propoganda, which is information designed to influence an opinion. (SEE MRS.IBALAROSSA, I DID TAKE NOTES IN CLASS. ☺)
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    The Sons of Liberty, who were led by Samuel Adams, had another secret meeting to discuss how they were going to rebel againist the King's extra taxes. Then they decided to go on one of the ships filled with crates of tea dressed as indians. They dumped all the tea in the harbor to show how they felt about the taxes the King put on tea, and ran away.

    The colonists are angry with the taxes the king has put on everything, and want independence.
  • Paul Revere's Midnight Ride

    Paul Revere's Midnight Ride
    When spies told him the king's soldiers were coming to fight, Paul Revere and two other men had someone put up lanterns on the Old North Church to signal which way the soldiers would be coming from- 1 lantern for land, and 2 for water. Then, when 2 lanterns shined from the church, Paul Revere went to the colonies and warned them all.

    Representatives from each of the 13 colonies (except Georgia) formed the Second Continential Congress, as an emergency government during the war and met in Philadelphia.
  • Continental Army is Formed

    By the middle of June, the Congess had created a Continental army, and selected George Washington to be its commander and chief.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill
    This was the second battle of the Revolutionary War, and it started after American militiamen built a dirt fort on top of a hill near Charles Town overlooking Boston's harbor. Then in the morning that British shot at the fort from ships in the harbor, and Charles Town was burning down. While it was burning the red coats attacked, but the colonists didnt fire until they could see "the whites of the enemy's eyes"
    The redcoats lost twice as many people then the colonists, but they won this battle
  • Washington Takes Command

    Washington Takes Command
    After The Battle of Bunker Hill, Genereal Washington made a plan to drive away the red coats from the city if Britain didn't accept America's offer of peace. When he heard that the King had declared war on all the colonies, he gave orders to get more cannons. During the winter, when they finally arrived on sleds, they pointed the cannons at the red coats. The red coats felt hopeless and dumped their cannons in the harbor and went to Canada. Then the Amercians took the c ity. ☺
  • The Decleration of Independence!

    On the fourth of July, in 1776 The United States of America was born! cheers
    Thomas Jefferson and other members the congressional committee were all busy writing the Declertation of Independence. They wrote that all men are born with certain god-given rights and are created equal, and how Britain took away all of those rights. This happened in the walls of the State House in Pennsylvania. Then after it was presented to congress, everyone signed it.

    Crossing the Deleware River/The Battle of Trenton
    On Christmas night, Washington and his men crossed the Deleware River into New Jersey. There they went into homes and fired. The Hessians surrendered, and we won The Battle of Trenton.

    The Americans tried to return to Trenton, but the British were keeping them from getting there, because they wanted more land for them, not the Americans. The Americans fired againist the British and won. Yippie.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The French allied the Americans, and together they went to Yorktown to try to force the British to surrender. Feeling hopeless and outnumbered, the Britsh signed The Treaty of Peace, because of the loss of money and weapons.
    And since that day, The United States of America has been independent, and we get to live with the great rights that the people of the past risked themselves to get for us. Thanks bros. (:
