There were 3 Pronged British attacks that split New England from the colonies. The battle of Saratoga was the Unrealistic and unorganized, turning point of the war which also resulted in French aid and Ben Franklin was responsible for the French Alliance. -

Valley and Forge is where Marquis de Lafayette met Washington and they lobbied immediately for French reinforcements. Also where the British captured the American capital of Philadelphia. (December 19, 1777-June 19, 1778) -
Battle of Yorktown
The British got defeated by the Americans and French forces, Which also led to the British defeat in the Revolutionary war. The battle of Yorktown was that last major battle in the war.
