Declared that that the colonist won the Revolutionary War. That they were now offically a soverign country. This event goes under the poltics category. -
Fugitive Slave Act
It was act passed by Congress, that allow the return and capture of runnaway slaves to their masters. It stated that all states had to abide by this law, even nonslave states. It also said that anyone caught helping runaways would face conquesnces. This law made it not safe for runaways who were still in the states. That their chance of freedom was in Canada. Where they would offically be free and safe. The Fugitive Act would have to be put under the slave category. -
Electon of 1800s
Jefferson and Adams run against each other to become the new president. Jefferson wins the electon and becomes the president. This leads to change in power in the political parties. The smooth change in politcal parties is the most significance thing about the election of 1800s. The election of Jefferson versus Adams would go under the politcal category. -
Lousinia Purchase
Jerfferson buys the Lousinia Purchase from france, in the year of 1803. It leads to begining of the westward expansion. This purchase was able to doubles the size of the colonies. The purchase is known as Jefferson most important achievement as president. Lousinia Purchase would go under the expansion category. -
War of 1812
Took place after the Revolutionary War. It was fought because Britian refused to stop restricting U.S Trade. Britian kept on interfering with U.S trading. They did this by blocking sailors for trading in the sea, and the impressement of traders. This led to President Madison to declaring war against Britian. The war showed that Britian could never have control over colonies. Event would go under the politcs category.

Flordia Purchase Treaty
Treaty sign with Spain that gave control of Flordia offically to United states. This treaty settle boundries problems between the United States and Mexico. Its importance was that now Flordia was offically Americans territory.This event would go under the expansion category.

Missouri Compromise
Congress passed a bill making Missouri a slave state. Under the condition that slavery is outlawed in the states above the 36th parallel, and allowed under it. This lead ti Maine becoming a free state. This compromise help keep balance between north and south states. This would go under expansion category.

Uncle Tiom's Cabin
Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book written by a lady called Harriet Stowe. The book after being published had so much of an infulential impact people views on slavery. It changed peoples mind and showed the evil of slavery. It help people realize that slaves were people too. The book also caused Northen aboltionist to fight more against the Fugitive Slave Act. This book would go under the slavery category.

Dred Scott Case
Dred Scott case was about a slave sueing for his freedom. On the grounds that, because his owner brought him into a free state. The law now stated he was free man and no longer a slave.The Supreme Court ruled that slaves in free states were still the propherty of their owners. Court also ruled that blacks could not sue because they weren't U.S citizens. This would go under the slavery category.
