    Stamp Act
    The British put a tax on anything paper related (for some reason?) and because we Americans are Babies we decided to bully Britain into removing it
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A street fight in Boston results in multiple people being shot and some killed by British officers. Most people consider this the official start of the American revolution
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    To protest taxes, the colonists raided a British ship and threw off ~300 years worth of tea
  • Continental Congress meets for the first time

    Continental Congress meets for the first time
    The Continental Congress (which is where all the cool guys hang out) met for the first time and discussed professional things and whatnot
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Basically, a very formal “you’re mean, you’re not invited to my birthday party anymore” from America to Britain.
  • End of the War (Battle Of Yorktown)

    End of the War (Battle Of Yorktown)
    Britain finally decides to surrender, meaning that America has won the revolution
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    2 years after the end of the war, a treaty is signed, giving the colonies complete control over themselves. Slick.
  • Articles Of Confederation

    America tries (and fails) to create a government system
