    In Boston a group of British soldiers caused havoc in the city. This resulted in the death of 5 people.

    The Boston Tea Party was a way of protest by the angry sons of Liberty. The Sons of Liberty were angry for “Taxation Without Representation” . They dumped a lot of tea chests in the ocean.
  • Intolerable Acts

    This was the year where the Intolerable Acts were passed. This was the result of the Boston tea party. The passing of the acts left many people like the Sons of Liberty very angry.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    On June 11th, 1776, the Committee Of Five wrote a document wanting America to get independence from Britain. Thomas Jefferson wrote the first draft and the rest of the committee finalized it. The document was presented to Congress June 28th. Not everyone agreed on wanting independence from Britain. Some wanted to create stronger alliances with other countries before gaining independence from Britain. On July 4th congress adopted the final document now known as the Declaration of Independence.

    This was an important year because this was when Cornwallis and his troops surrendered which made that battle a win for America.

    1783 marked the end of the Revolution. American patriots won against Britain in the final war of the American Revolution, with the help of France. This meant America officially gained its independence from Britain.
  • Constitutional Convention

    A meeting took place at the constitutional convention during this time. Delegates gathered here to change the Articles Of Confederation. After the Articles of Confederation was changed it turned into the modern day constitution.
