Colonists confronted British soldiers and threw snowballs, ice, and other weapons at the British. They fired their weapons and killed 5 and wounding 6 colonists. They said it was "self defense". -
The Boston Tea Party
Colonists revolt due to the high tea tax and threw all the tea overboard ship at Boston Harbour. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
British were marching to Concord because there was an arms depot. They were passing through Lexington and met up with colonists. Known as "the shot heard around the world." The colonists were forced to withdrawl, but it had slowed British advance. -
The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere
Paul Revere rode through the countryside to warn the colonists that the British were coming so that they would be ready. Never reached his destination, he got captured by the British. -
Declaration of Independence Signed
It was a document signed by the thirteen colonies declaring independence from Britain. -
Fort Ticonderoga
Americans first victory in the French and Indian War.. British recaptured it in 1777 and abandoned it in 1780. -
Winter at Valley Forge
All of the American army was short on food, clothing, and supplies during a very harsh winter. Baron von Steuben made them all better, tougher soliders by the end of winter. -

The French agreed to join American forces during the war. -
Battle of Yorktown
The final battle of the Revolutionary War, the British faced an embarassing defeat by the Americans with the French fleet help. -
Treaty of Paris
Treaty that officially ended the Revolutionary War. Under the terms of the treaty, America was now independent, set new boarders, and all British troops had to leave. -

When our nation was written and approved by unanimous vote. It is still being used to this very day.
