  • Albany Plan

    Albany Plan
    Representatives from the 13 colonies gathered in Albany, New York because they wanted a government that was stronger and more centralized. However only seven colonies accepted the plan
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Parliament of Britain continued to raise the taxes so now colonists had to pay a tax on all paper items and other products.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Colonists were angry about the new taxes so they took out their anger on British soldiers in Boston. They attacked them and in return the British killed five americans.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Colonists still were angry about taxes so they disguised themselves as Native Americans and raided three British tea ships and threw all of the tea into Boston Harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The British were furious about the dumping of tea in the Boston Harbor so they passed the intolerable acts which would close the harbor until the tea was paid for. Also another act said that if British soldiers did anything wrong in the Colonies they aren't held accountable for it.
  • First Continental Congress

    In Philadelphia there was a meeting held in which almost off of the colonies attended and they discussed to rebel against the British because of all of these new laws set in place.

    This is the second meeting in Philadelphia where they discussed how could all of the colonists come together and fight against the British. They decided the best plan would be to create a Continental Army.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battle of the Revolutionary War. The British were ordered to march towards Boston and Paul Revere rode his horse to warn the colonists that the British were coming.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Second Continental Congress signed this paper saying that the colonies want to be free from Great Britain and were going to fight for their freedom.
