French and Indian War
The French and Indian War was a war that occurred due to fighting over territory throughout North America. Along with this there were multiple other different causes, such as religious differences, waterways, and beaver trades. At the end, the British had won; they took over the land and possessions of France. -
Sons of Liberty
Sons of Liberty was an organization back in the 1760's, created to fight against the British taxes. This group all started loosely from shopkeepers, craftspeople, etc., who identified themselves as "The Loyal Nine". This group eventually grew rapidly and was known to be sometimes violent. -

The Stamp Act of 1765 was an action that required colonists to pay taxes on pages they've used. The colonists were upset with this, since they were being taxed without their consent. -

The Townshend act of 1764 was a new introduction of taxes on things like tea, glass, paint, and paper. They introduced this act so they would be able to have enough money to maintain the cost of an army. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre began when crowds came up to 8 British soldiers, threatening them. As a result of this, the soldiers ended up killing 5 colonists. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the American colonists. They were upset with the taxes the British brung and they called it "Taxation Without Representation". -
Battles of Lexington & Concord
This battle was known as the first battle in the American Revolution, the British had lost this battle; the first ever defeat from British on American soil. This was an important battle not only because it was the first that led to the revolution but because it encouraged many other Americans to support the fight for independence. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill is said to be the bloodiest battle in the Revolutionary War, within two hours of the war half of the British soldiers were killed or injured. This battle proved that the Americans were persistent, and there was no going back. -
Battle of Trenton
The Battle of Trenton led to two deaths for the Americans and five injured. The Americans accepted victory, capturing 900 opposing officers/soldiers. -
Battle of Camden
The Battle of Camden was a battle that British took as a victory. It is said to be America's worst defeat because it lead to the British to have temporary control of the southern colonies. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was a significant war fought, led by George Washington. The Americans won this battle, and ended the American Revolution with Lord Cornwallis surrendering. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris signed between the American colonies and Great Britain's colony officially recognized the U.S. as an independent nation. The name of this treaty comes from the city it was signed in. -

This convention addressed the situation with representation, slavery, and executive power. This convention was important for different reasons, one of them being because the three branches of the government developed. -
Great Compromise
The Great Compromise also known as The Connecticut Compromise occurred in 1787. This was an important because it solved problems with representation with the House and the Senate. -
Bill of Rights adopted
The Bill of Rights include the amendments for an individual's rights. This was first drafted in New York City, it was created in order to give individual rights and freedom to protect against government overreach.
