Britain officially recognized America as an independent nation and pushed Americans to treat Loyalists well. As part of the terms of the treaty, America was awarded a chunk of the Ohio River Valley

    The Intolerable Acts were passed by parliament in response to the Boston Tea Party.The acts shut down Boston Harbor until Boston colonists paid for the damaged tea.This act made the colonists furious because they made their money trading in the Boston harbor.The colonists decided to address the intolerable Acts in Philadelphia.

    First Continental Congress discussed drafted resolutions to address colonial complaints. British continued their boycott of British goods. By failing attempts to accomplish the problems with Britain actually pushed many colonist to secure weapons and etc to prepare for war at any moment.

    Second Continental Congress arranged officials to work out with Indian tribes and the foreign government in an effort to form an alliance and also authorized the creation of a navy to aid the newly formed Continental Army. By the end of 1775, the military conflicts with Great Britain grew larger to the desire of many Patriots to declare their independence but many were not convinced.

    America won the battle. The British general told London that America gained their respect. It was the first battle of the Revolutionary War. This battle gave a morale boost to the American colony.

The British fought with greater attention and the Continental Army realized they needed more support and encouraged all able-bodied men to enroll in the militia.

    Drafted by the second Continental Congress, the Olive Branch stated American loyalty to the king and begging him to intervene for the Patriots against Parliament. King George iii refused to receive the Branch. The colonist felt the king was going ¨outside the family¨ by hiring Hessians mercenaries which pushed the away from the British rule.

    In Yorktown, Virginia General Washington's troops marched from Pennsylvania to Virginia and then met up with French land forces demanded by Comte de Rochambeau. Once surrendered at Yorktown was a French victory over British and American victory. Once Continental won the British military still held were gone when Cornwallis surrendered.

    America won the Battle of Trenton. It boosted America's morale and convinced many men whose education were up at the end of the year to continue fighting with the continental army. The Hessian soldiers were crushed in the Washingtons raid across the Delaware River.

    Thomas Paine published Common Sense in order to persuade the colonists to declare freedom from Great Britain. British forces learning that the Continental Army can defeat them! The Continental Soldiers begin to feel confident and continued to enlist in the army, boosting American´s number of soldiers.

    America won the battle of Saratoga. It was a turning point and change the course of the war. It gave Americans hope and convinced France the colonists could actually win the war. The British surrendered and the win was celebrated as a French victory.

    Washington’s force system collapsed the men died from hunger,cold and diseases.The suffereing troops were held together by loyalty to Baron von Steuben.The British concentrated their efforts in the south, where they would gain the support of many loyalist .Warfare grew bigger in the Carolinas, with guerrilla syle civil battles betwee the Patriots and the loyalists.
