Stamp Act
taxed mail goods like legal document, stamps, etc. This was the first act put out in the colonies. First act that wasn't represented. -
Townshend Act
this was passed to help pay the expenses involved in governing the American colonies. Parliament passed the Townshend Acts. which initiated taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. -
Boston Massacre
A street fight that started because the taxes and ended in 3 instantly killed, 2 mortally injured , and five injured. This was the quickest spreading news at that point. It made the colonist the madest at that point. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of men Calling themselves the "Sons of Liberty" Dressed up as Indians, and dumped 45 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor. They made a very big statement by doing this. Some say that it was the biggest thing that the colonist did before the war. -

Intolerable Acts
Series of acts Boston port act: closed Boston Harbor and forced all colonist to pay for the tea dumped. The Massachusetts Government Act: restructured the Massachusetts government to give the royally-appointed more power. The Administration of Justice act: ensuring a fair trial for British officials who were charged with capital offenses while upholding the law or quelling protests in Massachusetts Bay Colony. Quartering Act: which put police into Boston and forced people to house soldiers.
