Stamp Act
The stamp act was a tax against the American colonists that was supposed to help the British get out of debt. This tax was used on items that were non-necessities such as newspapers and playing cards. Bunker (Breed's) Hill
The Americans occupied Bunker's hill until the British came to try to push them off. The British attacked 3 times. The end result was the British won after the colonists ran out of ammo but they lost a lot of troops in the process. Continental Army wintering at Valley Forge
In December of 1777, George Washington led his troops to the outskirts of Philadelphia. There, his men were provided with shelter and food while keeping close enough to the British that they could defend themselves if necessary. This post lasted for around 6 months with scarce supplies for the men. Battle of Yorktown
General Washington and Rochambeau teamed up to defeat the British troops during this battle. Hamilton was also included in this and lost fewer men than the British troops. This battle is seen as the last major battle during the war.
