The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5th, 1770. It was when a crowd of people were attacking the British army soldiers; the British then lost it and fired and shot the people.

Battle of Trenton
The Battle of Trenton was when Washington's army marched over to Trenton to attack the Hessians on December 26th, 1776. Washington got a victory after they surprise attacked them.

Battles of Saratoga
The Battles of Saratoga were a series of skirmishes and conflicts that lead to Burgoyne surrendering. One of them was Benedict Arnold attacking on September 19th, 1777 near Freeman's Farm. After the battle, Arnold didn't feel as if he was rewarded enough, and influenced by his wife and his bitterness, he betrayed America.

John Paul Jones Captures Serapis
John Paul Jones, commander of the Bonhomme Richard, captured the Serapis on September 23rd, 1779. However, they were outgunned and their ship sank, but since they won, they escaped on the Serapis.

Battle of Camden
General Horatio Gates was defeated at Camden by the British general, Lord Cornwallis on August 16th, 1780. Gates made a lot of tactical errors that contributed to his loss, such as putting his inexperienced militia in front.

Battle of Yorktown
General Cornwallis set up his base at Yorktown so his army could get supplies by a ship from New York. Washington took his decision as an opportunity and showered Yorktown in cannon fire and had Cornwallis trapped. In the end, he surrendered his army of 8,000 and Washington won.
