The Stamp Act
Required colonists to attach expensive stamps to all nerspaper and legal documents. In response to this the colonies formed the stamp act congress, representatives of each colony assembled a constituion and sent it to King George III. As a result parliament repealed the stamp act. -
Townshend Acts
Series of laws named for Charles Townshend, British Trescarer. Placed new taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. Colonists were mad. -
