British sentries guarding the Boston customs house shot into a crowd of people and killed three men and injured 8 of them and 2 of them mortally. the Boston massacre was a single event that led to the revolutionary war. -

the Boston tea party was the first major act of defiance to British so they could rule the colonists. the uprising on the act wasnt a protest agents a new tax hike on tea. -
battle of bunker hill
new England solders faced the British army for the first time in a pitched battle. the British where planning to send troops out from the city to fortify the unoccupied hills. -
declaration of independence adopted
it summarized the the colonist motivations for seeking independence. it was adopted on july 4th 1776. -
the battle of Trenton
George Washington's army defeated a garrison of hessian merchants at Trenton. all four hessian colonies where killed in battle. -
battle of Yorktown
British troops surrendered to the continental army and there French ally's. the united states established itself as a new international power. -
treaty of Paris
the treaty ended the American revolution and recolonized the united states as a American nation. the treaty also defined the U.S border with great Britain granting there northwest territory. -

it determined that three out of every five slaves where counted when determining the states total population. it increased the political power of slave holding states. -

it provided a a duel system of congressional representation. it established the united states legislature as a bicameral. -

it was the first 10 amendments added to the constitution. it spells out Americas rights and there relation to the government. -

British parliament passed the stamp act to help there finances after 7 years of war with the French. the stamp act required colonist's to pay taxes.
