Description This act put a three-cent tax on foreign refined sugar and coffee, indigo, and different kinds of wine. It only affected certain areas of population, but the people who wer affected were very upset about this, especially considering that the colonists had no say in it.

DescriptionThis was another act passed by Britain that stated, "every newspaper, pamphlet, public document or legal paper must have a stamp or British seal on it." The colonists were upset that they suddenly had to pay for something that had been free for years. After seeing the bitter reaction from colonists, Britain repealed the act in March 1766, but at the same time they passed the Declaratory Act, which made Britain the boss of American colonies "in any case whatsoever."

Description More taxes on lead, glass, paint, paper, and tea. Obviously, the colonists' reaction was the same as when the Stamp and Sugar Acts were passed, so Britain repealed all these taxes except for tea.
