A British tax on the American colonies that required any printed materials made in the colonies have a revenue stamp on them. -
The Intolerable acts
The Intolerable acts included a five different acts which were The Boston Port act (closed port of Boston until the tea lost during “Boston tea party” was paid for), The Administration of Justice act (British officials accused of crime will be tried in England and not America), The Massachusetts Government act (reduced colony’s right to self government), The Quartering act (British troops could be housed in any town in Massachusetts), and The Quebec act (extended Quebec south to Ohio River). -

The Americans and French trap the British army led by General Cornwallis at Yorktown, Virginia and force them to surrender. -
The Treaty of Paris (1783)
Ended the American Revolution. The treaty recognized America as an independent country from Britain and gave most of the lands east of the Mississippi River to them. -
Articles of Confederation
It was developed by the 2nd Continental Congress and it set up a central government that had a one house legislature. It formed very strong state governments but also very weak central governments which led to an unstable and weak government and economy.
