French-Indian War
Apart of the seven years war and the British got large amounts of land but was the reason that the British went into debt that ended up leading to the American Revolution. A war that had Great Britain, France and the Native American tribes. -
Navigation Acts
The Acts stopped letting colonies from delivering certain, amount of goods to countries that isn't Britain and those countries and or colonies, and controlled that imports be sourced only through Britain and no other place. -
Quartering Act
This enforced the colonists had to provide food, beverages, rest, fuel, and even transportation to the British soldiers that were in their town and or area. -
Stamp Act
It enforced that the colonists needed to pay a tax for the stamp on so many different types of papers including news papers, playing cards, etc. The colonists protested by petitions and then it escalated to damage to property's then harassment to the officials. -
Townshend Acts
These acts put taxes on goods such as tea, paper, paint, glass, and lead. As a response the colonists decided to stop people from buying the goods from the British. -
Boston Massacre
Several British soldiers shot at and killed unarmed colonists in the streets of Boston and it angered the colonies. Paul Revere made a famous drawing of the scene and called in the bloody massacre. -
Boston Tea Party
This was a American protest by the Sons of Liberty that was showing the defiance of the taxes that the British was placing on tea and other goods. -
Intolerable Acts
There was 5 laws that got passed to punish the colony of Massachusetts bay for the Boston tea party these laws included. The Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, the Administration of Justice Act, the Quebec Act, and the Quartering Act. -
