Stamp Act
The stamp act was a law which would go to inspire the American Revolution. This caused a backlash from the Americans and that would push them all the way to independence from the British Empire. On March 22nd, 1765, is when the British Parliament passes the Stamp Act. Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that occurred on March 5, 1770, on King street in Boston. It started off as just a fight in the street between the American colonists and a British soldier, but it quickly escalated to a bloody slaughter that was very chaotic. Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a political protest that that occurred on December 16, 1773, at Griffin's Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts. The American colonists were annoyed and angry at the Britain for imposing "taxation without Representation" they dumped 342 chests of British tea into the harbor. This event was the first big act of resistance to British rule over the colonists. It showed Great Britain that the Americans wouldn't take the taxation which caused the Americans to fight for independence. -

The battle of Lexington and concord fought on on April 19, 1775, started off the the American Revolutionary War. Anger has been building for many years between the residents of the 13 American colonies and the British Authorities, mainly in Massachusetts. The battle of Lexington and concord were the first military engagements on the American Revolutionary War. The battles were fought in Middlesex country, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Cambridge. -
Bunker Hill
Early in the Revolutionary War, the British defeated the Americans at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts. Besides their loss, the non experienced colonial forces inflicted casualties against the British, the battle provided them with an important confidence boost. Most of the fighting occurred on nearby Breed’s Hill. -
Declaration of Independence
The declaration of Independence was adopted by the second continental congress on July 4, 1776. This was 2 days after the Americans declared independence from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence served the political connections between the 13 original colonies and Great Britain. This all forged an official alliance with the government with France and obtained French assistance in the war against Great Britain. -
Battle at Trenton / Princeton
General George Washington's army crossed Delaware, throughout the next 10 days they won 2 intense crucial battles of the American Revolution. Washington defeated a formidable garrison of Hessian mercenaries before withdrawing. Washington returned a week later to lure British forces south, they entered a daring night to capture Princeton. was crucial was because they had to cross the icy Delaware river, frizzing rain, they marched 9 miles to Trenton. -
Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point in American Revolution. British General John Burgoyne had a small victory over American forces it was led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. This had weakened his troop. Burgoyne they attacked again the Americans at Bemis Heights, this time they were defeated and forced to retreat. He surrendered 10 days later, the American victory convinced the French Government to recognized the colonists cause and entered the war as their ally. -
Valley Forge
Valley Forge was a valley in eastern Pennsylvania that served as quarters for the American army in one winter of the Revolutionary War. George Washington was the one commanding the army, was forced to leave Philadelphia, his troops suffered from cold and lack of supplies. -

Americans suffered their worst defeat of the Revolution War. With the unconditional surrender of Major General Benjamin Lincoln to British Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton and his army of 10,00o at Charleston, South Carolina. -
Battle of Yorktown
General George Washington was commanding a force of 17,000 French and Continental troops. This battle was against British General Lord Charles Cornwallis and there was 9,000 British troops at Yorktown, Virginia, this was the most important battle of the Revolutionary war because Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington as French and American forces trapped the British at Yorktown. When the British surrendered it ended the American Revolutionary War.
