This helped strengthen the British empire and also gave them control of most of North America. -

Developed by the second constitutional congress, the articles of confederation was a failed attempt at a creation of a government. The articles of confederation started in 1781 and was done in 1787. They learned from this mistake and later established the U.S constitution.
