    The British government tells the colonists that they are not allowed to go west of the Appalachian Mountains.     The Stamp Act was an act where the British were taxing basic things like newspapers. The reason they did this was because the colonists decided to cross the Proclamation line.     The British and Colonists were both in Boston and the Colonists were getting mad because of the taxing. They were throwing ice chunks at the British and someone shot but nobody knows who. There were actually several colonists that died from the Boston Massacre.

    The Intolerable Acts were a response to the Boston Tea Party which were extremely unfair rules for the colonists. The four acts were the Quartering Act, the Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, and the Act of Impartial Administration.

    The first actual battle of the war. The British attempted to take the colonist's guns but it failed because the colonists moved their guns to nearby towns. This battle ended in a colonist's victory.

    Bunker hill was a major part of the war because it was a big hill where you could see a long way. In this battle, the colonists killed a lot of the British Army but they ran out of ammunition so that meant that the British won this battle.
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    There was a group of men called the Green Mountain Boys where they would go around the country and attack forts and be in battles. They were a very strong group of men ran by Ethan Allen. There was a British fort called Ticonderoga that the colonists took over.
  • Common Sense

  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    At first the Sons and Daughters of Liberty met at the first continental congress and discussed what they should do. They decided they should send over a peace treaty known as the Olive Branch Petition to ask the king if they could be their own independent country. Of course the king said no so they decided since he said no that they were going to write a Declaration of Independence to become their own country.

    Trenton and Princeton
    The Colonial Army decided that on Christmas night they were going to do a different battle strategy. They decided that they were going to do a sneak attack on the British and it worked. They snuck across the Deleware River and did a sneak attack on Christmas night and the British had no idea it was coming.

    Battle of Saratoga
    A major battle in the war that turned the sides of the war. The colonists took down the British's Saratoga and that was a big win for them. That was the battle that boosted the colonists moral and made them fight better and be more confident.     Valley Forge

    This was a fort for the Colonists close to Philadelphia where they stayed over the winter. The British troops that were in Philadelphia decided to evacuate because they were scared of the Colonial Army coming and attacking them because of how close they were. At this fort the Colonial Army got really well trained and were definitely ready for the British once winter is over.

    Battle of the South

    The battles of the South were battles that took place once George Washington sent his troops down South to take down all of the major southern cities. Some major places they took over are Vincennes, Kaskaskia, Guilford Courthouse, King's Mountain, and Compens. The British also won battles at major cities such as Wilmington, Camden, Charleston, and Savannah.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    This was the battle that ended the Revolutionary war. In this battle the French decided that they were going to join the Colonial Army and that led to the British retreating which ended this war. In September of 1783 the now United States and Britain signed the Treaty of Paris.
