French and Indian War
The french and Indian war was between the French and Indian against the British, but mainly the europeans. The British began to encroach on French land so they could control fur trade, and kidnap Indian women and children. The French and the Indians were allies and traded peacefully. Eventually, the British made both the Indians and the French so angry that it started a war. -
Proclamtion of 1763
The Proclamtion of 1763 was created in result of the French and Indian war. The purpose of this was to prohibit any British colonists from encroahing on Indian land west of the Appalachain mountains. If the colonists were to take what land the Indians had left, the Indians may start another war that the British could not afford due to debt from the French and Indian war. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was a tax created by the king that put a tax on all paper goods in order to pay for the war. The colonists were against this and rioted, boycotted, and used threats and violence to get the Stamp Act repealed. -
Sons and Daughters of Liberty
The Sons and Daughters of Liberty were colonists that were against the Stamp Act. The Sons of Liberty used violence and threats to pursuade to get the Stamp Act repealed. The burned life sized dummies, or effigies, that represented British Officials. The Daughters of Liberty boycotted and made their own British goods. They also pursuaded others to do the same. -
Stamp Act Congress
The Stamp Act Congress was a group of representatives sent from each colony to boycott against the Stamp Act until it was repealed.
