  • The Proclamation Line of 1763

    The line that was created by the British so that the colonists could not go west of the Appalachian Mountains and start a war with the Native Americans.

    Taxes were placed on molasses and sugar

    People were forced to buy stamps to put on letters and official documents.

    The colonists were forced to house and feed the British soldiers to save money for Britain.

    Taxes were made on glass, paint, paper, lead, and tea
  • Boston Massacre

    The colonists and British soldiers have a small battle in the middle of the night where 6 colonists die.
  • Committee of Correspondence

    A committee of resistance leaders that talk of how to respond to the British.
  • Tea act

    In the tea act the British made it so that the colonists could only buy tea from them and there was tax on the tea.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The colonists boycott the tea and it rots on the docks. They also throw 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    Delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies came to carpenters hall to talk if they should boycott British products and petition King George III.
  • Intolerable acts

    The Intolerable acts were punishment to the Massachusetts colonies for the Boston Tea Party
  • Second Continental Congress

    The second Continental Congress decided to create an army that they would print their own money to pay for and that George Washington would be the general of.
  • Lexington and Concord

    "The shot heard 'round the world" was fired at Lexington and in that battle 8 colonists died and 10 were wounded. Concord was where all of the militias weapons were but the militia was out and waiting for the British ready to fight.

    The document that stated why the united states wanted to break free from Britain.
